- LERDING, EDDIE LEE, 80, of Louisville, died Saturday December 26, 2009 at Baptist Hospital East.
- He was the son of Bonnie and Edward Lerding.
- Eddie was an Army veteran and served in the Korean War, he was also a retired German and English teacher at Shawnee, Iroquois, and Male High School, and enjoyed coaching track and cross country, and was also a member of Male High Hall of Fame. Eddie was known to say that "He was the last living Republican Alderman from the administration of William O. Cougar," having served on the board from 1961-1967. He was preceded in death by his son, Eric Lerding. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, the former Betty Landers; daughter Karen Brown; sisters, Sheridan Kennedy and Susan Lerding.
- The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday December 31, 2009 at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. on Wednesday December 30, 2009 at the funeral home.
