- I am married to Allen Forcht who is a SHS 1956 graduate.
- We have one son, Chuck, and two grandsons, Evan (age 14) and Erik (age 8).
- When I think back over the past 50 years, it seems as though time as passed way too fast and that I have missed many things; but I realize I have had a rich and full life and don't regret much that as occurred during those fifty years. After graduating from the University of Louisville, I began working there for what I thought was just a transition period until I found what I wanted to be when I grew up. I thought I would pick up some courses that I needed to get a teaching certificate; instead I started working with the students and began to pursue a Masters in Student Personnel. Working at the university lasted until this past July 2007 when I retired. I enjoyed working with college students and spent most of my working career in academic advising in some capacity ranging from counselor to director. The last nine years of my employment was with an innovative program, Metropolitan College (a program with UPS, the University of Louisville and Jefferson Community and Technical College). Assisting with the development of this program was a wonderful, exciting and interesting way to spend my last years of employment.
- Until two years ago, I had a small business (Kentucky Wood Creations). Allen and I primarily made wood items and sold them at craft shows. We made the decision to close the business because the traveling, set-up and tear-down almost every weekend (especially in the fall) became too stressful for us. Although we met a lot of wonderful and interesting people over the years, this is not a decision we have regretted.
- I am a loyal U of L fan and attend home football and basketball games. Allen and I frequently attend some of the other U of L sports events (baseball, volleyball and softball). Our older grandson is also an avid sport enthusiast and attends most of the football games as well as some of the other events.
- I am still in the process of adjusting to retirement but am considering many options. Retirement has given us the opportunity to spend more time with our grandsons, who are our greatest treasure.
