    One of the most influancial people in my high school experience was the 1959 Crusade for Children King and our 11th and 12th grade classmate, B. T. Kimbrough. I was in Mr. Routh’s American History class with B.T. I always looked forward to his answering a question as B.T. made the historial characters come alive. I admired his excellent skill with words, his sense of humor, his beautiful attitude dealing with his handicap and his attending public school even though it meant he carried a heavy typewriter under one arm and his heavy braile books under the other. I am sure his sister Pat (also our Classmate) contributed to his public school success. Later in my life I came under the influnce of his parents at 9 & O Baptist where his dad, Bradley Kimbrough encouraged leadership skills in me by asking me to step out beyond my comfort zone to care more about others than to worry about what they thought of me. A beautiful family that it was my privilege to have known
