2015
- After graduation from Shawnee, I took two years of chemistry at U of L night school and worked as a lab tech at Brown & Williamson, running sugar analysis on tobacco. I married my husband, John, in Oct. of 1963 and after the birth of our first child I became a stay at home mom. When our youngest turned 12, I went back to work as a veterinary assistant, which included everything from receptionist to surgical nurse. We raise a garden each year so I do can and freeze veggies, though not the quantity I used to when our children were here. Since retirement I have devoted much of my time to enjoyable interests. I love being in our church choir, (joined in Aug. of 1970) other church ministeries, Water Fitness classes at the Y, Bunco and Domino clubs, reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Reuniting with Shawnee school mates at our monthly get togethers has been a special treat. With old and new friendships we share memories and make new ones.
- John and I have four children:
- Julie, an Optomistrist
- John Jr., an Electrical Engineer
- Laurie, a Cosmetologist

- John and I have been so blessed, at ages 82 and 72, we are healthy and able to do the things we enjoy. Although some of our "get up and go" has "got up and left" we still get things done.....it just takes longer!
