- William “Bill” Gray, Sr., 83, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away at Norton Clark Hospital on Monday, April 28, 2025 very peacefully with loved ones by his side after a short illness.
- Bill retired from S & L Lighting and attended Henryville Church of Christ. Bill was an avid horse race fan and how fitting for him to enter his eternal home on Kentucky Derby week.
- Bill was born on July 28, 1941 to the late James Allen and Flossie Hinton Gray. He is survived by daughters, Rhonda Embry (Roger), Shannon Blair (Tony) and a son William “Bill” Gray, Jr. (Missy). He is survived by 11 grandkids, Alyson Embry (Ryan), Amanda Raine and Evan Embry (Hannah), Megan Leftwich (Tyler), Cody Gray (Mileena), Devon Gray, Isaac Black (Abby), Shelby Wright (Michael), Sydney Lawson (Chuck), Taylor Pippin (Shawn) and Brayden Blair (Elisabeth). Bill was blessed with great-grandchildren Jaxton, Bryson, Berkley, Ellis, Brady, Britta, Addilynn, Ella, Ellie, Eivind (and 1 on the way) with several nieces and nephews.

- Bill was preceded in death by his father, James Allen Gray, his mother, Flossie Hinton Gray, his wife, Martha Gray, his sisters, Mildred Hall, Noreen Bolton, Beatrice Courtney, and Cora Maye Ryan, and his brother, Paul Ray Gray.
- Visitation will be on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm/Noon at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243) with a private burial at Resthaven Cemetery.
- The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists and sitters at Norton Clark Hospital for an outstanding job caring for Bill. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to a charity of your choice in order to help others and spread kindness.
