- Marvin is married to Linda. He has one son, (Chris), two step-sons, (Frank and Mark Bertrand), three step-daughters, (Kelli Sinibaldi, Stacy Long, and Amy Pence) and 13 grandchildren, (Abi, Hilary, Chris, Sarah, Matt, Lisa, Gina, Lorrie, Jacob, Haley, Karachelle, Jackson, and Corey).
- He retired from Colgate in July 1994 and currently lives on a farm, is president the Jeffersonville Colgate Retirees Club, Inc. He is also a member in the following clubs, investment, square dance, Euchre, investment, and computer. He also bowls, is a member of the Colgate golf team, and farms.
