  • It’s hard to imagine that it has been 50 years since we graduated from Shawnee. Time has really flown. This time of year I always think of the start of football practice under Coach Kleier. Although we didn’t appreciate it at the time, the discipline he instilled in us was a great preparation for later life.
  • CAREER INFO: After graduating from Shawnee I attended Georgia Tech, receiving a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering degree in 1963. I was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force and served 7 years achieving the rank of Captain. While in the Air Force I obtained a Master of Science in Engineering degree from Arizona State University. The majority of my military service was spent with the Office of Aerospace Research working on the design of future weapon systems. Assignments were in Denver, Colorado; Phoenix, Arizona; and Alamogordo, New Mexico.
  • I left the Air Force in 1970 to take a job as Director, Operations Planning at Frontier Airlines in Denver, Colorado. Then in 1972 I went to Houston, Texas to work as the Vice President of Logistics with Texas Air Corporation. Texas Air bought Continental Airlines in 1980 and I subsequently held various Vice Presidential positions in Finance and Operations at Continental until resigning in 1994.
  • I then joined Norwegian Cruise Lines in 1994 as Vice President of Logistics and Financial Planning, commuting between Houston and Miami, Florida. I got tired of the commute, so in 1997 I resigned and joined an Aviation Consulting firm as a Partner. I have remained a Consultant since that time, finally getting the courage to go out on my own in 2003. Fortune smiled on us in 2003 when Hawaiian Airlines hired me to consult on a series of restructuring projects. This allowed my wife and me to spend 6 months a year in the Islands until the middle of 2006. With the current oil boom I have taken on projects for oil field service companies here in Texas. I have no plans to retire full time, but have cut back my schedule significantly.

  • FAMILY INFO: During my time in the Air Force I was lucky to meet my wife, Harriet, in Denver, Colorado. She is from Ft. Morgan, Colorado, a small town in Northeastern Colorado. We were married in 1966 and just celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary. Since 1972 we have lived in Spring, Texas, a suburb Northwest of Houston, Texas. We have 2 sons, Scott – Age 38 and Brent, Age – 35. We are blessed with 2 great Daughters–In-Law and 2 Grandsons, Luke – Age 17 months and Andrew – Age 6 months. Both sons graduated from Texas A&M University and live in Houston. It gives us an opportunity to spend lots of time with the grandsons.
  • Both Harriet and I are avid tennis players and golfers. We also enjoy our season football tickets to see Texas A&M play. My jobs have also afforded us the opportunity to travel extensively. Harriet is a talented singer and devotes time to the choir in the Methodist church we attend
  • I will not be attending the reunion, but have certainly enjoyed reading the biographies that have already been submitted, and look forward to reading the others as they are available. I haven’t been to Louisville in over 15 years. I imagine it has changed quite significantly from what I remember. I certainly didn’t recognize Shawnee from the Web-Site pictures, certainly the nickname and colors. I don’t care what they do it will always be the Gold & White Indians to me.
