- Sue lives in Frankfort with her husband, Ken Lovitt. She has three children and eight grandchildren.
- She says, "My husband of 29 years, Dennis L. Sterling passed away in 1990. Then in 1993 I had a blind date with Ken Lovitt. Neither one of us wanted to remarry, however, after dating 2-1/2 years Ken proposed, my children all agreed, so I said yes and we were married in Nov. 1995.
- I had been working in the billing office for the Norton Hospital Group for ten years but retired in Dec. 1995. I sold my house in Louisville, and moved to Frankfort, where Ken worked. Needing to stay busy, I bought myself a sewing machine, got books from the library and learned to sew, which led to crafting, etc. When Ken retired three years ago, I had the opportunity to buy the business where I had been selling my crafts for a few years. So now I'm a small business owner, named "Sue's Backyard Crafts", and I also process payments there for around 200 different companies; and do alterations, So I stay busy but only have my shop open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. After all, I am retired.
- Usually Ken and I go to Cancun, Mexico once a year and every other year I go to Florida to visit the grandchildren and their parents, too. As a matter of fact, I'll be flying to Cancun Sept. 13 for a week of sun, water, and relaxation."
