Hazel and her husband
Robert Orem live in Louisville. They have three children:
Robert Jr. (38), Angela (31), Jennifer (29). They also
have five grandchildren: Caitlin (12), Natalie (11),
Collin (11), Bradley (6), Kimberlin (6 months).
She says, "I have been an executive secretary or
administrative assistant for the past 35 years. I
worked for Saudi Aramco in Dhahran and after returning to
KY, I worked for Underwriters Safety & Claims.
I retired October 2000.
"For the better part of the past 40 years we have
lived outside the United States in such places as
Indonesia and Saudi Arabia working for Bechtel and later
Saudi Aramco. We retired from the corporate world
for a while and tried our hand at commercial shrimping
and farming in Mississippi. After a couple of
years, we returned to Saudi Arabia with Saudi Aramco for
nearly three years (including the Gulf War). We
returned to Kentucky in 1993 to help take care of our
ever growing family and elderly parents. Robert is
still employed, but I retired last year. The
grandchildren take up a lot of our spare time and we
thoroughly enjoy them." |
