Although I graduated from Flaget in 1960, I enjoyed your site and it brought back memories. I ran around with many Shawnee graduates from 59, 60, and 61. Thanks for the memories, and keep up the good work! I was trying to find out something about Deanna Temple, but no luck..

What a great website you have created, Gary! I am Bob Meadows sister, class of 63. I sure would like to see the class of 63 on this site. I am a novice on the computer, but I would help to make this happen, anyway I can. Big "Thanks" to Dennis Crosby for submitting the picture of him, Bob and Johnny. My family really enjoyed this picture, especially his son Michael and his wife Betty. It's nice to look back on the good times of our youth. May we all stay forever young.

The 20th and 40th reunions have been the only times I have been back to Louisville other than the attend funerals...So the reunions have been pretty special...So much fun to see you all do well no matter the travails of our lives....And no matter where I've been in life, college, army, graduate school, careers in banking and financial consulting; my frame of reference has always been Shawnee Elementary, Junior, and High Schools: The teachers, friends and contemporaries, the neighborhood.....Its always been a constant frame of reference..And seeing so many of you succeed in life has been an extra special pleasure. I thank each of you for the influence you have had on me...Thanks, Mac

Yahoo Shawnee Indians! I hope all of you take this opportunity to come together again. No matter what your life has been or what shape you're in, I've learned that it is relationships that count as well as taking care of your spiritual life. And yes, Bill, Peggy Sue did get married just like your movie. Thanks for your memories of Fontain Ferry Park and the the Dairy Dell. I would like to add Frisch's Restaurant on Cane Run Road; and thanks to webmaster Gary Byrne and the reunion committee for all of their work to make this communication possible. Looking forward to a blessed, memory-making REUNION. Warmest regards to everyone.

It is going to be so great to see the people who knew you when. Please, those of you who can't be with us, send in a photo of you and your family, as we would all love to see them. We could print and post at the Reunion so you can be seen and remembered by your old friends. It's not too late!! Change your mind and join us.

I am looking forward to this reunion with great anticipation. I haven't seen Norma Jean Silver since 1960; while I have seen Veronices Gray quite frequently. I am now working with Jeannie Fleischman and others on the committee so that our 40th reunion will be the very best....simply the best. See you all there.

I didn't attend any of the previous reunions and won't be able to make this one either. Have you seen the movie "Peggy Sue Got Married" with Kathleen Turner? I wonder if the fantasy of imagining the meeting of folks one hasn't seen for 40 years would be better than the reality. I've often thought about what it would be like to meet again and talk to some of my favorite classmates. But I now live out of town and can't comfortably drive at night because of the glare of headlights. I've run into some of my classmates over the years, but not many. I never visited Shawnee after I graduated, although I continued to live in the West End for several years after 1960, and periodically drive back to see how it has changed. My wife (who was pregnant with our daughter at the time) and I and a graduate from the 1959 class had planned to have fun at Fontaine Ferry the afternoon it closed forever. We happened to drive up just as the tumult broke out at the front gate....we quickly saw what was happening, got back in the car and drove away. I often recall with pleasure the fun times I enjoyed at F.F. all those decades ago....the Dairy Dell across the street...the swimming pool, etc. I'm sorry my daughter, who is 30, was never able to have that experience. I regret that today's teens can't know the innocent good times our generation was able to have....looking back, it seems that perhaps ours was the last generation before drugs and all the other negative things became prevalent. But maybe I'm being too pessimistic...good luck to all of you, and enjoy yourself at the party! -- Bill Underwood

I am looking forward to reunion and a chance to catch up on all the happenings. I have not been to a reunion since our 20th because I live and work so far away. This year I get to answer other questions beside "What is your brother doing?" because he will be there also with his wife. See you on August 5, 2000
