I am presently working for the U.S. Department of Defense as an Administrative Officer for U.S. Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine - an environmental agency in the Pacific Theater."
- Update November 2001: "I am retired from the American Red Cross and Department of Defense. I presently live in the city of Pattaya which is located in Thailand."

- 71, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Jewish Hospital. Richard was a retired field director for the American Red Cross and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Louise Ovington; brothers, Joseph and Paul Ovington; sister, Anita Johnson. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Joseph A. Johnson; nieces, Sheril Lowe and Stacy Johnson; nephew, Joseph H. Johnson. The family chose cremation, with burial in Portland Cemetery, at a later date. Arrangements by J.B. Ratterman & Sons
