- Dear friends
- In 1964 I married Bill Bohaning - the older brother of one of our classmates Jack Bohanning (now deceased). We moved to Dayton, Ohio area and have settled in nicely. I am a happily retired teacher of Spanish and English in Kettering, Ohio. I taught there for 27 years, but retired because of dysphonia - a speech problem. Bill worked at Wright Patterson Air force Base 29 years and retired in 1994.
- Bill and I loved to travel in the summers with Elderhostel. We traveled extensively - China, Australia, Egypt and Kenya. We also learned to Scuba dive, and for several years we took dive trips in the Caribbean in January and February. Now our "wandering" days are behind us, and I happily putter around in my flower garden
- I'm sorry that we will not be at the reunion dinner, but I am glad to have the Shawnee website address
- I am not the computer-literate one in the family - Bill is - and I will have to rely on him to help me navigate the Shawnee website. I look forward to seeing via the the web pix from the reunion dinner

- Melva is married to Bill Bohaning and lives in Dayton, Ohio. She is retired after 30 years teaching high school.
- She is "Ha, Ha! Happily retired" and enjoys gardening, SCUBA diving, and travel.
- She says, "I taught high school for 30 years, but voice and handwriting problems signaled it was time to retire. Neither problem bothers me when I'm SCUBA diving in the Caribbean. Hello to everybody!"
