- Carolyn is the widow of Ronald Schamback, a St. Xavier graduate who passed away in 2002. She has one step-granddaughter.
- She writes, "worked at Sun TV for 11 years as an inventory clerk and bookkeeper, then at Peck & Peck, a woman's dress shop for five years. After that I became a homemaker."
- Continuing she says, "I've done volunteer work and stay active in church. I like to read mysteries, garden, and spend time with family and friends. Our travels have been to the Bahamas, Brazil, Canada, many of the European countries, and most of the states. We also went on seven cruises, Rhine River, Mediterranean, Alaska, Hawaii, and three Caribbean, and enjoyed them all."
