- Joyce is divorced and has two children, Sabrina and Terri, and two grandchildren, Amber and Amanda. She is a retired guidance counselor- JCPS. Her retirement activities include quilting, shopping, family things, and socializing.
- She describes her life after high school, "I graduated from WKU with a Masters and Rank I. I needed one class and a thesis for a doctorate but had burn-out and did not finish.
- "I had two children before finishing college, taught school in Bowling Green three years then came to JCPS. I divorced in 1972. I received counselor of the year award from JCPS in 1993.
- "I belong to American Sewing Guild." We make charitable things monthly to help the community such as fleece hats for cancer patients at local hospitals.
- I belong to Midlane Park Reformed Presbyterian Church and have performed various jobs in the church such as Bible School Teacher, Womens circle leader, teacher, and Secretary. I am the secretary for my homeowners association. I am currently trying to make myself get into a regular exercise routine at the local health club. I am also a 5 year survivor of lung cancer and am currently cancer-free."
- I have three pets that came from the Humane Society, a dog that looks sort of like a terrier/collie mix, named Daisy, a black cat named Cosby and a white cat named Snowy. I just bought a new car and can't afford to put gas in it. When I moved to Louisville it was 15 cents a gallon. What in the heck happened?"
- "I hope to be able to attend the reunion.I did not know a lot of graduates well since I was only at Shawnee my senior year. It still saddens me to see the pictures of all our deceased classmates."
